Lake Travis made a statement in its first game of the Texas high school football season last week, earning a commanding 38-21 win over Weiss. The Cavaliers' (1-0) schedule doesn't get any easier. They travel down Interstate 35, just outside of San Antonio, to face Cibolo Steele in a clash of two Class 6A powerhouses. Steele opened the season by beating San Antonio Reagan 52-21 before falling to Atascocita 38-23 the next Friday. Senior wide receiver Luca Antoun led the production, posting 132 yards and a touchdown. The Lake Travis secondary held up well against Weiss' loaded receiving corps. The Knights are led by head coach David Saenz and senior quarterback DJ Green, who threw for 2,081 yards, 29 touchdowns and three interceptions in 2025. Junior running back Liam Jones leads the team in rushing. Senior defensive back Eli Johnson, a four-star recruit committed to Ohio State, leads Steele's defense.
